Glad to meet you! I'm Ben Browner, a 38 year old boat enthusiast, ecologist and entrepreneur. My wife and I run an awesome glamping campground in Discovery Bay, and produce local conferences & events. The 3rd member of our family is the sweetest bunny you ever laid eyes on named Bilbo, and the 4th is our boat "Cassie," who you'll meet in a minute.
To begin, I've been on the water and operating heavy machinery since I was a young boy. When you bring your loved ones out with me, you can rest assured knowing that you're safe and sound. (And that you'll have a lot of fun ;-) I run a tight ship, but we know how to let loose.
I am certified in World Sailing Offshore Regulation Medical Training: Advanced First Aid, CPR, AED for Mariners. I've been through a Wilderness First Responder certification course, and Boater Safety Education courses. To keep things balanced, I also hold a Doctorate from the highly-esteemed University of Margaritaville.
When we're together you can expect a hearty sense of humor, plenty of leniency with personality types, lots of knowledge around anything you might want to talk about, and an adventurous streak that ensures we all have a wildly memorable time together. I look forward to making memories with you and your friends / loved ones. Drop us a line anytime...
24' STARCRAFT ISLANDER "CASSIE"
Cassie (pictured above) is the newest member of our family. Short for "Cascadia" her name represents the ability to travel far and wide through the bioregion's waterways. She was owned by an old Navy Captain for 15 years before me, she was impeccably kept, and somehow only had 128hrs on her engine as of 2020. We keep her shiny, and we're always beautifying and updating!
Cassie has a heated "cuddy" cabin in her bow (nomad/nautical themed) that's big enough for 5 people to cozy up in. She's decked out with all kinds of ID books, binoculars, and educational accoutrements. Her biminy cover will keep you dry in the rain, and her large stern will offer you warmth in the sun. We've converted the live well to be a huge cooler, and she has seating for 6+.
Cassie's fully set up for salmon fishing and crabbing, both of which are charters we'll soon be offering. But for now, we're focusing on these Eco/History Tours, and have decked her out with a platform on the back for swimming, and a retractable ramp on front for accessible egress when beaching the boat (which her sturdy aluminum hull allows us to do a lot of! :-)
Feel free to ask any further questions at all, we're here to serve you! ~Captain Ben
I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have, or entertain any ideas. Shoot me a text, gimme a ring, or send me a pigeon. I'm here, and you're my top priority!
