TRIP OVERVIEW:
We’ll get acquainted at the marina, go over some safety precautions, pour you all a couple drinks, then charter past the idyllic Port Townsend & Fort Worden coastlines. (Last minute coffee stops etc can be fun before we leave town).
From here we’ll buzz across the Strait of Juan De Fuca at top speed, then up the Whidbey Island coastline (about 45min of exhilarating high speed travel). Upon arrival, we'll cruise through the absolutely world-renowned Deception Pass. Words cannot do it justice. But if I was to try, the record might skip on "magical, mystical, breathtaking, and jaw-dropping." Suffice it is to say: the pictures that come out of these tours are treasured by friends and family for years to come.
We’ll picnic on a remote island, hike next to raging tidal flows, explore the acclaimed "Tidepool Trail," learn about local ecology / geology, enjoy some good music, visit one of the oldest Douglas Firs in Washington, and take passenger requests to ensure that this is the greatest boat trip your group has had in years!
We'll beach the boat right at the State Campground, get unloaded, and send you all off on a hike while I setup a beautiful camp and start cooking us a delicious meal! The night's activities are all fully customizable: I'll offer group options ahead of time and we'll feel it out, you guys "just do you." (I'll be sleeping in the boat cabin, and give you as much privacy as you like :-)
Evening Possibilities:
- Ukelele or bluetooth music around the camp fire
- Conversation card games to take things a little deeper
- Board games by lantern light at the picnic table
- Private group space while Captain Ben goes to bed ;-)
You'll wake up to morning music around 7:30am, and have an oatmeal bar waiting with all the fixins. I'll send you all off on a great hike, then pack up camp for the group. We’ll buzz back across the Strait at 10am, and get you dropped off back at the marina or a nearby beach cafe around 11am, where you can enjoy the rest of your day however you please…
PICNIC / DRINKS:
A charcuterie board is pre-made for each group, but make sure to bring more food if you'll be hungry... Three wines/beers for each person, on the house! (Or a novel Japanese Tea Ceremony on the beach!) Filtered water also provided for guests. Bring more beverages if you like!
